Playing at the Park

Yesterday we took Emma to the park and it started out really well. Unfortunately, it ended with a mouthful of sand and a long scrub in the tub.

This was right before she decided to stick an entire handful of sand into her mouth. When we got home and took a bath, she then decided to help me clean her up by eating the bubbles in her tub. Now if only she would eat her dinner that well!

Maybe I Shouldn't Have Given Her Turkey

Father's Day Part 2

Today was our second weekend celebrating Father's Day. The day started with brunch at Market Square and then we all cooled off at the Splash Pad.

Emma thought that Grandma needed a very wet hug.

Confusion

Here's the backstory: A couple of days ago, Emma wanted to watch a video of her friend, Matthew. After watching it a couple of times, as well as looking at several pictures on his website, I told Emma that Matthew had to go bye-bye and put the laptop away. She immediately burst into tears and continuously cried "My Matthew!" and (I think) "I love Matthew!" Of course, I let her watch the video again and then she was happy.

Yesterday, I thought I would videotape her watching Matthew's video so that Andy could see her say "My Matthew (it was very sweet!)." I couldn't find my video camera, so I set up the
built-in video camera on the laptop and split the screen, like this:

Well, apparently, seeing two babies was too much for her and she was pretty confused. She didn't say anything. However, she did do something that we have never taught her: she shrugged in confusion. It's amazing what kids learn on their own!

P.S. Brad, if you are reading this, please know that you have a very loyal following at our house. And I mean a several times a day loyal following. Please don't ever give up your blog...the world just might stop if we can't see "My Mau-Mau" in action!

Father's Day Part I

Emma is such a lucky girl; she has so many special dads in her life that she will celebrate two weekends worth of Father's Days. This weekend, we had dinner with the Stegners and spent Sunday with just the three of us. Andy wanted a relaxing day, so we went to lunch and then went to the Duck Pond in Fountain City to feed the ducks. We wrapped up Andy's special day with his favorite dinner and dessert.

The Drive-In

Emma is feeling a little under the weather today, so I turned a movie on for her. We were watching The Little Mermaid when she decided to drag her car over and turn our living room into the drive-in.

Splash Pad!

Brad, Amber, Andy and I took the kids to the Splash Pad today. I didn't even know this place existed, but I'm so glad it does. It's basically sprinklers from above and below. Emma was able to run around and get wet at the same time. She had a ball!

This is SO much fun!

Tiny Tongue

Emma has rediscovered her tongue. Now, she can stick it out on demand. She's so proud when she's able to do it and cracks up if we do it back. What a cute little tongue my sweetie has!

No tongue, but still so cute!

A Day at the Pool

We were finally able to take Emma to the pool today and she loved it! She wasn't scared and really liked floating around on her float. She thought it was funny when we went underwater and jumped out to surprise her. Going to the pool will definitely become a daily event!

Graydon

Today, Graydon and Jennifer came over for a visit. Emma has met Graydon before, but this was the first time that she was able to introduce him to all of her "stuff." She couldn't wait to show him her toys. However, she's still too little to understand that not every baby is able to play like she can.

Isn't he a cutie?

Emma really had to restrain herself from grabbing him like she does her baby doll.

He wasn't really sure about this!

Wa-Ma-Ma

What is wa-ma-ma? Emma favorite summertime treat; watermelon. She can eat tons of it. We usually need to strip her down, otherwise she turns into a big, red, sticky mess, but boy, does she enjoy herself! She devoured this piece in less than two minutes.

If I was able to insert sound here, all you would hear is "Mmm!"
