Rainy Day Fun

We had planned to go to the pool today, but the rain caused a change in plans. Instead, we decided to build a blanket fort. Emma loves forts, but especially loves running in and out of them.

Big smiles inside the fort.

Running in...

...and running out.

Peek-a-Boo!

Andy gave Emma a flashlight to play with in the fort, but she kept shining it in her eyes, so we kept it turned off.

Stay tuned for pool pictures!

Eating Like a Big Girl

Lately, we've been letting Emma feed herself with her own utensils. We don't expect a lot of coordination, but we just want her to get used to using it. Her methods are pretty interesting:

Sometimes she'll stab her food: which would be good if she wasn't using a spoon to spear toast.
Sometimes she even tries to use her utensils to "eat" her drink.
But most of the time, she just holds it and uses her God given utensils.

Matthew and Emma

Emma and I met Matthew and Amber at the park today. Before we went for our walk, we let the kids swing for a bit. The fresh air and motion must have made them sleepy, because they look pretty tired, don't they?

Busy Day

This morning, Emma went to work with me and helped me close up my classroom for the summer. Well, she really spent most of her time socializing. She saw her old friend Mary Carlisle, and met her new friend, Graydon. She had such a good time and was VERY tired when we left.

Little Gym

Today was Emma's introductory class at Little Gym. She is enrolled for the summer and will attend once a week. Her first class is the last for most of the "students" so she was able to play with the pros. There aren't really supposed to be cameras, but of course I am a rebel and snuck some anyway. :)
I'm pretty sure this is the funniest disclaimer EVER

Summertime!

Today was so beautiful and almost felt like a summer day, so we took Emma outside to break in her new swimsuit. We turned on the sprinklers and let her go! She didn't even hesitate. Next stop; the pool!

Although Emma enjoyed the sprinklers, Sophie did NOT.

Mother's Day

Andy, Emma, and I went to Gatlinburg to celebrate Mother's Day. We spent the day at the aquarium and had a great time. Emma loved looking at everything, especially the penguins. We had such a fun time just spending time with our little family.
